Dear Northwood High School Parents, Students and Teachers,
In the face of today’s unstable economy, many of us feel that no one person can make a difference. Please know that at Northwood High PTSA every membership, every volunteer hour and every dollar donated directly impacts each of our students. Whether we are providing shade awnings, computers, educational speakers, a safe event for our new graduates, increased Health Clerk time, snacks and supplies at the student store or cookies at back-to-school night, our PTSA is making the difference at NHS.
This year it will be especially important for every Northwood family to join PTSA. This summer we will be sending home a PTSA packet with your registration materials. The purple packet has a membership form, and volunteer and donation opportunities for your family. Don’t put it aside, spend a few minutes looking at all the information and JOIN.
One of our goals for this year is to focus on communication. This website will not only provide you with important dates and contact information for our school but it will also provide information about PTSA efforts at the local and state levels. As the voice for concerned parents and students, our state-wide PTA, speaks on behalf of all of our children to our Legislators. Stay informed and speak up when you can.
Our most important communication tool is our monthly meetings. In addition to PTSA business, each month we will try to have a speaker focusing on an aspect of your child’s education. Additionally our Principal and a Student Rep. make a report at every meeting. For most of us, high school is sometimes a difficult time for communication between parent and student. Come to a PTSA meeting and find out what is happening at school. Meeting dates and times are listed in the sidebar.
I invite you to make a difference in the life of the students of Northwood High. Join, volunteer and donate!!! I’ll look forward to welcoming you at an upcoming meeting.
Sincerely,
Jayne Ruane
